Blue hour in Paris

Paris at blue hour is the river and the bridges. Pont Alexandre III, the view from Pont de la Tournelle toward Notre-Dame, the Louvre courtyard once the lamps are on — all of them work because the stone is pale enough to pick up sky colour and the lights are already there. The tower is a different problem: it is a bright, blinking subject against a sky that is getting darker. Expose for the sky and let the iron go bright, or wait until the sparkle show if that is the picture you want.

Use this page’s calculator; do not guess from a blog post written in June when you are there in November. Times are Europe/Paris.
